About Ian
Ian was born in Ethiopia, where hi parents were missionarys, and lived there until he was 5 years old. His family moved frequently, (including another period of time in Africa) before finally settling in the UK in 1981.
He was the lead vocalist in a band called "Equilibrium" in the mid 80’s. Playing to whoever would listen nearly anywhere in the country, the band was together for about 6 years before all going their separate ways in 1991. During this time Ian also led worship at his local church in Carshalton, Surrey.
Between 1991 and 1994 Ian wasn't involved in music or church. Towards the end of ‘94, he started to write again but this time the songs were predominantly worship songs for personal and congregational use rather than the performance songs that he had previously written and performed. He also became involved in leading worship this time in Bookham, also in Surrey.
In 2002 Ian recorded his first CD entitled “Hope” and at the end of 2005 completed his second “City of Refuge”. He lives with his wife Jane, and three children, and continues to lead worship at Bookham Baptist Church.
